Alex was first invited to volunteer with the Miracle League soon after moving to the DMV and joining the Kiwanis Club of Bethesda. After experiencing his first Miracle League game and witnessing firsthand the joy and excitement that it brought to players, their families, the buddies, and all other volunteers involved, Alex knew that this was a cause he wanted to champion. Throughout his time with the League, Alex has been impressed watching the players grow and “come out of their shells” by learning the game and forming meaningful friendships. Alex has spent the majority of his life volunteering and giving back to the community. He first became involved in the Boy Scouts of America as a Bear Cub in elementary school and has since made it to the rank of Eagle Scout, Scouting’s highest honor. He also joined the Kiwanis family as a member of his school’s Builder’s Club in 7th grade, sticking with the organization throughout high school as a member of Key Club and into college as a member of Circle K, serving positions as Webmaster, Secretary, and Board Member along the way. Alex continues to be involved in both organizations today, volunteering as an Assistant Scoutmaster for a local scout troop and as the Membership Committee Chair for the Kiwanis Club of Bethesda.
